This book is one of my textbooks to learn how to create a new idea. This book starts with the statement of James Webb Young.
An idea is nothing more nor less than a new combination of old elements.
I definitely recommend reading this book since this book is easy to understand and I fully agree with many points since they are the same method I’ve used. And I found new insight on how to get an idea.
Firstly I deeply agree with “Have Fun” is the most important factor. If I can’t enjoy creating an idea, I can’t keep producing ideas.
I also like the concept of “Be More Like a Child”. Sometimes I have to think about the solution without restriction. In the real world, there are so many restrictions that development cost, engineering resource, and allowable time till a deadline. I think “Be More Like a Child” means we can seek a solution without such restrictions, it makes a lot of sense to me.
“5 steps Method for Producing Ideas” in this book is a useful method and a good reference for me.
