Instead of overcoming the pressure, I would like to introduce another perspective that is to utilize pressure to get more power than usual.
What is the pressure for us?
Let’s remember when we feel pressure.
In my cases,
- Matches of tennis competition
- University entrance examination
- Presentation in a customer meeting
- Speech in a wedding ceremony
- 1st driver shot in golf course
What happens to us when we feel pressure?
- Heart rate goes up
- Hands and feet tremble
- Mouth dries
Can we control the impact of pressure on our bodies?
When I felt pressure I tried not to be panic and calm down my feeling and relax. But I couldn’t do that.
We can think we got a special power when we feel pressure. It’s a bonus time to be hyper. It’s like super Mario get a star.
A higher heart rate should give you more energy as your heart pumps more oxygen throughout your body. Although there is a limit.
Have you ever had the experience that you got better performance when you were under high pressure?
For example, in a tennis match, you can hit a better service than usual, in examination we can solve the problem faster than usual, and in a public speech, you can see the participants’ faces in every corner of the venue.
We can choose our recognition
The important thing is how we recognized the situation.
When you feel pressure, it’s an abnormal condition.
